Production of a handbook for the acceptance of finishing machinery

The unrestricted usabilty of printing and finishing machinery, the existence of all the promised properties and the fulfilment of defined quality criteria by products produced on the machinery can only be confirmed by a machine acceptance procedure. The buyers of machinery are usually small or medium-sized companies that up until now have been stretched to achieve this.

The objective of the project is to produce a handbook for the acceptance of printing and finishing machinery that allows buyers to carry out machinery acceptance procedures in conjunction with the manufacturers or for independent service providers to be entrusted with carrying out such acceptance procedures.

Machinery parameters and quality criteria for the products produced on such machines that might serve as a foundation for machinery acceptance procedures have already been prepared and published by Fogra. Using these as a foundation, the research project is currently developing and validating the detailed examination concepts.

Fogra offers machinery examination based on these as one of its services. A detailed examination report unambiguously records the current condition of the machine and can be used as an objective aid to making an acceptance decision.
